National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu - Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Training Programmes at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu for 2015/2016 academic session.

i.) Post Basic School of Nursing

• Orthopoedic Nursing
• Burns/Plastic Nursing

ii.) School of Orthopaedic Cast Technology

• For full time National Diploma programme in Orthopaedic Cast Technology.

Qualifications/ Requirements

i.) Post Basic School of Nursing
Candidates must:

• Possess West African School Certificate /GCE/NECO or their acceptable equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects at one or two sittings. This must include a credit in English Language, Mathematics and at least two (2) Science subjects viz Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
• Have at least one (1) year post qualification experience in the clinical area.
• Show evidence of sponsorship
• Current Practicing License.
• Have three referee letters one of which must be from Principal/Dean of year school.

ii.) School of Orthopaedic Cast Technology
Candidates must:

• Possess West African School Certificate /GCE/NECO or their acceptable equivalent with credit in five (5) subjects at not more than two sittings.
• This must include a credit in English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science and two (2) other subjects.
• Three referee letters one of which must be from Principal/Dean of last school.
• Experience in the clinical use of Plaster of Paris will be an added advantage.

12th June, 2015

Method of Application
Applications should be addressed to the Medical Director National Orthopaedlc Hospital, Enugu. Applications and copies of the relevant credentials should be contained in a sealed envelope and submitted at the RET Office, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu.

Duration of Programmes
i.) Post Basic School Of Nursing:

• The duration of the course is twelve calendar months comprising two (2) semesters.

ii.) School of Orthopaedic Cast Technology:

• The duration of the course is two (2) years, comprising four (4) semesters of academic/practical work

Selection Interview
Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for selection interview which will take place at the New Conference Hall, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu, scheduled as follows:

i.) Post Basic Nursing Schools
Orthopaedic Nursing……. 10th August, 2015
Burns/Plastic Nursing…… 17th August, 2015
